EVENT: Pre AAU Junior Olympic Camp
DAY/DATE: Monday, July 28 - Friday, August 1, 1997

SKILL LEVEL: Open to all athletes racing in the AAU Junior Olympic
championships in Charlotte, NC on Tuesday August 5, 1997.
CHECK IN: 8:00am-at the NOC Pavilion by the Bridge Gates-Monday, July 28
CAMP SCHEDULE: Specific schedules will be given at the Wednesday morning
meeting. There will be two coached hour long workouts each day in the camp.
One day may be scheduled for river running technique.

REGISTRATION: Call or e-mail Wayner by Sunday, July 27. Pay during
check-in on Monday morning. You need to tell him how many days you will be
attending the camp, age, and what class you will be paddling.
ENTRY FEE:
Coaching $10/day (it is not necessary to sign up for the entire camp
but priority will be given to athletes signing up for whole week.)

Meal Package None (NOC has three restaurants on site plus
cooking facilities.)
MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED: USCKT (for insurance purposes) Forms will be
available at check-in.
CLASSES: All boats competing in the AAU Junior Olympics: Men's Kayak (K1),
Women's Kayak (K1W), Men's Solo Canoe (C1), and Tandem Canoe (C2).
TRAINING AREAS: Nantahala gates (class II), Tuckaseigee gates (class II),
Fontana Lake (flatwater).

* Focus of this camp is on technique with emphasis being placed on stroke
drills, boat placement in the gates and offset gates including specific
practice for the AAU Junior Olympic competition.
